The Fabrication Library

A Public Design+Build Space

Located on a small sloped site off West 155th st, the Fabrication Library provides the Sugar Hill residents with a design+build focused library

This project was developed to comply as closely to NYC building code as possible while still pushing the envelope on mass timber construction in NYC. A full drawing set, from zoning to mechanical systems, was produced through Revit. Renders were produced with Endscape.

The Fabrication Library ties together the architectural and urban through the inclusion of an urban bridge that dramatically ties together circulation and structure. The bridge also provides visual access to the interior and brings natural light into the downstairs reading room.

Glulam Beams and Columns are connected through steel joints , Modeled in 1-1 scale, then detailed in section drawings
